Greetings, student. The time of exams has been started in Latvia. Thousands of young people will be graduating. Not long after, they will sign their first contract of employment with an employer of their choice and start their careers as a specialist.

However, you have to know that not every employer agrees to honor the terms of the employment contract and the requirements of the current Latvian legislation. It's more likely that this employer is more familiar with the rules of the game and how to interpret them in his favor. If he dislikes you, someone like that will not show any pity and will play against you in full force.

When I refused to work without payment on the weekends and go on another long-term business trip, the employer simply stopped giving me tasks. Two weeks later he demanded that I submit an explanation about why I am not working. After this he fired me for my absence, without paying me the sum that I had earned: salary for the last month of work and redundancy pay.

So, what now?
